He Put a Ring on it! Caeci and Zieg Celebrate Eternal Bonding

Saturday, July 15, 2017 two of our Stabbies celebrated their love and devotion by joining together in the Ceremony of Eternal Bonding. Congratulations to Caeci and Zieg!

Resplendent in a black and red color motif, the couple marched down the aisle to much fanfare and applause. Once at the altar, Zieg had a moment of panic upon realizing he could not actually leave the area, while Caeci waited patiently for him to continue the ceremony. Caeci and Zieg then exchanged rings and a kiss, with the blessing of the Moogles of course.

Many of the Stabbies were in attendance, filling the chapel with cheers and confetti, congratulations and costumes, and above all love for the newly bonded couple.

PvP Club: It’s Time to Duel!

For the first time ever, PvP Club was a tournament! Full of 1v1 duels, the Stabbies took on each other in a few bracketed tourneys to compete for glory and gil. The tournament featured double elimination, a losers bracket, and a 200k gil prize.

Club leader N’tohj set everything up and created brackets with a random generator, so blame RNJesus for the Scholar v Scholar match ups. Participants included Jairen, Nikko, and Mana with Kela and Kotone sweeping victory and splitting the prize money. Cheering them on and watching the duels were Caeci and Admiral Artbar.

Our adventurous Stabbies tested the PvP waters with many different roles, with varying degrees of success. Throughout the duels Scholar, Samurai, and Dark Knight proved to be the most formidable of opponents. Participants also tried out the powers of Monks, Bards, Paladins, and Warriors.

Want to be a part of the action? Join in next PvP Club, Friday 8:30pm CST, (raid schedule permitting) and find out who is the Stabbiest of the Stabbies.

Housing Contest Resumes!

Alright everyone, since meeting our 50 million gil goal for a housing upgrade to a large size mansion, gil contributions have understandably stopped coming in for housing.

However, yesterday it was discussed buying as many as three houses for Free Company use (two would be personal houses of leadership positioned near the main mansion with open permissions) and decorate them similarly to establish the first-ever multiple-building free company Campus on Brynhildr. This would give us room for far more activities, such as a permanent ballroom for event hosting, a student lounge complete with fully-stocked bar and spare dormitories, and even classrooms that our professors could use as an in-game meeting space in which to teach. We would also double our gardening capacity.

This is a lofty goal, and for the most part this is optional, but with everyone’s help we can raise the additional funds by patch 4.1 to make this a reality.

Let’s revitalize the housing fundraiser! For those who are new, the housing fundraiser works like this: anyone who matches Headmistress Kela’s contribution to the new house gets free crafted furniture from her for life. Your personal room, check. Your personal house, check. Anything you want crafted, mats will be provided free of charge. Multiple people can win this prize, anyone who meets the threshold qualifies.

Let’s check out the current standings as of when we met our goal, shall we?

Right now the threshold is about 12 million gil (Kela may or may not have it in her to contribute further 😉 ). The new goal is a total of 70 million gil, which will purchase the plot 30 Shirogane mansion and the medium-size house nextdoor. Another four million will guarantee the purchase of the last remaining house on that cliffside, the small cottage, but that’s low priority so let’s just take it one step at a time. In addition, any contributions over the stated goal also count toward your total and will go toward furnishing and supplying FC properties.

Contribution is totally optional, and regardless of the money donated everyone will be free to use all properties. If you would like to contribute, simply donate money in the FC chest and Kela will update her spreadsheet with the relevant data.

Please let Kela know if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you!

UPDATE apparently if you tell George Hyrule you’re raising money he’ll take you up on that.

George is now solidly in first place and beating Kela by about five million gil, and the new threshold for winning the prize is now 15 million gil. Our new goal is 100 million gil, for purchase of three houses and a construction permit/furniture fund. If we get to 100 million, please don’t feel like you have to stop if you want a shot at the prize. There will be plenty of furniture we need, plus we can always open a personal room grant fund to people who’d like a personal room but can’t afford it. Basically go ham, Kela can make furniture for days it’s not a big deal.

Sussing Out Susano Ex

Extreme Primal Club went where it has never gone before: into Stormblood and Susano Ex. Though he thought himself mighty, the Primal-Who-Just-Wants-to-Have-Fun was no match for the power of the Stabbies!

Under the instruction of  Kela, Justin Moonsbane, Mana, and Nikko, fellow Stabbies Sukutak, Apollo, and Celaena earned their first Susano Ex clear. The mighty instructors had farmed many a Susano run (or at least cleared it more than once!) and were able to lead our heroes to glorious victory.

While no doggos were sighted this clear, Sukutak was lucky enough to snag his tank axe (the better to SMASH you with). Who can say what will happen next week? May RNJesus smile upon us all when we find a doggo.

Next Thursday, 8:30pm CST, bring your level 70 Might or Magic class to take on one of the Extreme Primals of Stormblood and save the world! Or just get great loot. Either way, join in the fun and we will see you there!

Our Airship Runs on Darksteel

This week teamwork really made the dream work as the Stabbies banded together to defeat the most dreaded of foes: Queue Times. With interest waning in Matron Diadem runs, Airship Club Leader Sukutak sent out a call to queue which the FC answered! This allowed the team of getherers to mine up ALL THE DARKSTEEL as well as an abundance of Spruce Logs.

Materials in hand, the club went back to the workshop and made excellent progress on a shiny new Enterprise Aftcastle for our beloved airship,  Doinky McDoinkface.

What new upgrades will Doinky McDoinkface get? Will excellent progress continue to ruin Sukutak’s math? Will Korodi ever be free of Darksteel Ingots? Join the Airship Club, Wednesdays at 9:00pm CST, to get your craft on, and find out!
