The Airship Club Makes Progress

Led by Prefect and Officer Sukutak, the Royal Acadamy had a busy night on Wednesday evening with over 12 people online simultaneously. Suku, Kela, Ravella, Korodi, Luna, Ponyo and Xiru specifically crafted, coordinated, purchased and gathered our way to the completion of the Airship’s second-to-last component.

The construction is scheduled to finish next week.

Airship Club completes Broncho-Type Sail

A night of Gathering and Crafting yielded great results for the Provisioning Club, led fearlessly by Officer Sukutak. Kela, Korodi and Ravella all contributed mining, smithing, armoring, goldsmithing and weaving skills to create the darksteel frame and canvas sail.

Next week, progress will begin on the remaining two airship components: The Forecastle and Aftcastle. After joining them to the already-completed Hull and Sail, the Airship will be ready for exploratory voyages.

All students who assist with the construction of the airship shall have a say in its name. Please consider joining us next week: Wednesdays, 9-11pm CST. All Crafters and Gatherers of any level welcome, and it’s great experience as well.

The Royal Academy does Diadem

The Stabbies represented a full party as they ventured into the new Diadem update as of patch 3.55b which landed this Thursday. Although several members had gone into the instance previously, and many continued to run after the official group disbanded, the Academy fronted a full party of 8 on two occasions this Monday evening after Treasure Maps Club.

Sukutak, who had the most experience, did an excellent job leading and navigating the mostly green group through the persistent 72-man instance. In the Diadem, FATEs must be completed simultaneously with assigned missions marked in red on the map. Your team must fly to the different areas and complete their missions and required FATEs as quickly as possible to gain access to the Boss Fates, which take place on the lower level of the diadem and provide the highest rewards.

Rewards included Brass Spoils, which may be traded for materia, crafting and gathering supplies, mounts and minions, and level 60 i265 Sunburst Gear. While random in it’s distrubution of roles and stats, the gear can be very useful for gearing up your character in a hurry – with a decent amount of luck, of course.

Please keep an eye on the Company Calendar if you’re interested in joining us on our next mission!

Palace of the Dead Floor 200 Challenge: Update!

The Deep Dungeon club continues its weekly meetings in an attempt to reach floor 200 and claim the 4 million gil prize.

Two teams still complete regularly: Team CPLS (Chef, Ponyo, Luna and Sukutak) were forced to reset this week after wiping in the floor 140 range. However, due to high levels and quick progression they recovered all of 50 – 100 in one night, leaving them ready to begin at 101 next week. Meanwhile, Team NKKK (N’tohj, Kela, Korodi and Kotone) reached floor 151 without much incident.

The stakes are even higher next week. If you’re interested in this contest, any wipe will set either party back to floor 50, meaning it’s still anyone’s game and it’s not too late to join. Parties of four are recommended, although not required. The club meets from 8:30pm – 10:30pm CST on Sunday evenings.

Palace of the Dead Challenge: Week 11

The two teams continued to run the gauntlet to floor 200 of the Palace of the Dead deep dungeon.

Team N’KKK suffered a setback by having to change their roster and started over from floor 1 after reaching floor 100. In two weeks they have made up the first 70 floors.

Team CPLS has slowly but steadily made up for their slow start in the first few weeks and have progressed ten to twenty floors a week since clearing floor fifty. They are currently on floor 130, with an established a lead of 60 floors.

The challenge continues next Sunday at 8:30pm CST. Who shall be victorious and claim the 4 million gil prize?
